Home Coming Day 2020

Welcome to Home Coming Day at Home Coming Art Studio. This is a VIRTUAL celebration of the second anniversary of the opening of the studio. Annette Devitt opened the studio in 2018 to be a place where she could create woven items and watercolor paintings, as well as, share her love of fiber arts and fine art by offering classes. She also wants the studio to be a place where people keep coming back to learn, create, and spend time with others who enjoy the arts. Today you will see some of Annette's work and learn more about the classes offered at the studio. You will also see some of the student's work from their classes and also how they used what they have learned to continue to create wonderful things.

Safety Protocols for COVID-19

The world is a different place than it was at the start of 2020. So this means some changes to how things are done at the studio. If you come to visit the studio, you are asked to where a mask and practice social distancing. If you are not feeling well, we ask that you wait to visit the studio another day.

We would like to start classes again at the studio. The number of students will be limited to allow for social distancing. The teaching area where students work on projects has tables spaced out so students will be at least 6 feet apart. Instructors will demonstrate from the large table at the front of the studio. (The beret wearing foam-core "model" is standing in for the instructor in the photo.) Chairs will be spaced out for students to watch the demonstrations. For weaving classes, the benches for the looms are also already at least 6' apart.

Classes requiring special supplies, will have a set for each student so they will not need to share equipment. Classroom space/surfaces will be cleaned before and after classes.

Additionally, the studio now has “Molekule” air purifiers. Notice the short cylinder on the left on the instructor's table and a tall cylinder to just before the last table on the right in the classroom area. The “Molekule” (pronounced molecule) air purifier devices work slightly differently than an air purifier with a HEPA filter. Using a technology referred to as PECO or Photo Electrochemical Oxidation. PECO destroys pollutants at a microscopic scale, including VOCs and viruses 1000x smaller than what the HEPA filter standard even tests for. With no ozone byproduct, Molekule air purifiers safely destroy a vast range of indoor air pollutants. These will filter air in an hour.

If you have already signed up for a class, but do not feel comfortable coming to the studio, you can reschedule for a later date or request a refund.
