Classes - Winter/Spring 2025
There are two ways to register for a class.
Method 1: Click on the "Buy Now" button beside each class.
Method 2: Contact Home Coming Art Studio at 609-579-4412 or homecomingartstudio@comcast.net. After contacting the studio, an invoice will be emailed to you for the entire cost of the class or a deposit, depending on the cost of the class. Payment can be made check, credit card or cash. Payment must be received within 2 weeks to hold the registration for the class.
Upon registering, students will receive a welcome email with further details about the class. Cancellations made prior to 30 days before the class will receive a full refund.
Beginning Watercolor
Instructor: Annette Devitt
Date: Mondays, March 3, 10, 17, 24
Time: 10:00 am - noon
Cost: $100
All materials included. A set of supplies will be available to use for the class.
This class is designed for people who have never touched watercolors before. You will learn about the medium and supplies needed to paint. Students will learn various techniques for using watercolor.

Beginning Sewing
Belinda McGuire-Davis is founder of the LenGuire Institute of Fashion and an expert seamstress. She will share her expertise as the instructor for this class.

Beginning Weaving
Instructor: Annette Devitt
Date: Saturday & Sunday, March 8 & 9
OR Thursday & Friday, April 10 & 11
Time: 9:00 am-4:00 pm
Cost: $180
All materials included. A set of supplies will be available to use for the class.
In this two-day class, students will learn basic weaving skills such as reading a draft, planning a weaving project, preparing the loom, and weaving. Leave the class with a hand-woven scarf.

Dual Primary Palette Landscape
Instructor: David Dorrell
Date: Wednesday, March 12
Time: 10:00 am - 3:00 pm (with a break for lunch)
Cost: $55
All materials included. A set of supplies will be available to use for the class.
During the class, the students will learn to take a so-so photo and create an interesting and engaging painting. Instruction will be given on how to compose the painting, then draw the scene, and finally how to paint the landscape using warm and cool primary paints. Students will be shown various methods for applying acrylic paints, with a focus on mixing colors to achieve desired colors.

Dual Primary Palette Landscape - Taking It Further

Date: Wednesday, March 19
Time: 10:00 am - 3:00 pm (with a break for lunch)
Cost: $55
All materials included. A set of supplies will be available to use for the class.
This class will build on the Dual Primary Palette class. For this class, students will select a landscape photo to work on using the principles and techniques learned during the Dual Primary Palette Landscape class. Instructor, David Dorrell will guide students through the process of creating expressive paintings.

Kumihimo Braids

Learn the basics for creating one of a kind braids. They are great for bracelets or necklaces paired with glass or polymer clay pendants.

Temari Ball - Kiku Diamonds

Date: Saturday, March 29
Time: 9:00 am-2 pm
Cost: $50
All materials included. A set of supplies will be available to use for the class.
Learn to mark your ball and how to use a basic stitch for creating a temari ball. The balls are ready for you to start stitching. Choose from a wide range of colors to create your unique ball.

Beginning Knitting
Instructor: Annette Devitt
Date: Wednesdays, April 7 & 14
Time: 6:30-8:30 pm
Cost: $45
All supplies included.
In this two part class, you will learn how to cast on and do basic knit and purl stitches. Find out how these two stitches are the basis for all projects as you learn to read a pattern to put it all together. Adults and teens.


Dye Your Own Warp or Yarn
Instructor: Annette Devitt
Date: Saturday, May 31
Time: 9:00 am-4:00 pm
Cost: $80
All materials included. A set of supplies will be available to use for the class.
Participants will learn to use a limited palette of dyes for cellulose fibers to create unique warps or yarn. The morning will start with participants making samples of each color. In the afternoon, participants will choose to dye two warps or two skeins of yarn or one of each. Yarn will be 100% cotton and warps will be predominately cotton with possibly rayon as well.
