Classes - 2022
There are two ways to register for a class.
Method 1: Click on the "Buy Now" button beside each class.
Method 2: Contact Home Coming Art Studio at 609-579-4412 or homecomingartstudio@comcast.net. After contacting the studio, an invoice will be emailed to you for the entire cost of the class or a deposit, depending on the cost of the class. Payment can be made check, credit card or cash. Payment must be received within 2 weeks to hold the registration for the class.
Upon registering, students will receive a welcome email with further details about the class. Cancellations made prior to 30 days before the class will receive a full refund.

Beginning Crochet
Instructor: Darlene Peterzak
Date: Thursdays, May 19 & 26
Time: 6:30-8:30 pm
Cost: $45
All supplies included.
In this two part class, you will learn the basic crochet stitches including single crochet and double crochet. Understand how to read a pattern to put it all together.
Design Your Own Woven Item
Instructor: Annette Devitt
Date: Saturday, May 21
Time: 2:00-4:00 pm
Cost: $25
Participants will bring their own yarns and Annette will help them design a weaving project using that yarn. Previous weaving experience necessary. (This is not a beginning weaving class.) There will be an option to rent time on a studio loom to complete the project.


Temari Ball - Layered Diamonds

All materials included. A set of supplies will be available to use for the class.
Learn to mark your ball and how to use a basic stitch for creating a temari ball. The balls are ready for you to start stitching. Choose from a wide range of colors to create your unique ball
Kumihimo Braids

Time: 6:00-9:00 pm

Learn the basics for creating one of a kind braids. They are great for bracelets or necklaces paired with glass or polymer clay pendants.

Beginning Knitting

Date: Wednesdays, June 8 & 15
Time: 10:00 am - noon

In this two part class, you will learn how to cast on and do basic knit and purl stitches. Find out how these two stitches are the basis for all projects as you learn to read a pattern to put it all together.
Explore Double Weave
Instructor: Annette Devitt
Date: Saturday, June 18
Time: 9:00 am-4:00 pm
Cost: $80
All supplies included.
Participants will use pre-warped looms to learn the basic techniques of how to weave double cloth, double width, switching layers, and tubes. Previous weaving experience necessary. (This is not a beginning weaving class.)

Hula Hoop Rug

Fun for the whole family. The rugs are made using old t-shirts. You provide the t-shirts & we'll provide the hula hoop.


Temari Ball - Kiku Diamonds

Dye Your Own Warp or Yarn
Instructor: Annette Devitt
Date: Saturday, July 23
Time: 9:00 am-4:00 pm
Cost: $80
All materials included. A set of supplies will be available to use for the class.
Participants will learn to use a limited palette of dyes for cellulose fibers to create unique warps or yarn. The morning will start with participants making samples of each color. In the afternoon, participants will choose to dye two warps or two skeins of yarn or one of each. Yarn will be 100% cotton and warps will be predominately cotton with possibly rayon as well.


Beginning Weaving

Date: Tuesday & Wednesday, July 26 & 27
Time: 9:00 am-4:00 pm
Cost: $180
All materials included. A set of supplies will be available to use for the class.
In this two-day class, students will learn basic weaving skills such as reading a draft, planning a weaving project, preparing the loom, and weaving. Leave the class with a hand woven scarf. Adults and teens.
